Weight Management Support

We offer several proven options to help you in your weight loss journey.

Semaglutide & Tirzepatide

What you need to know!

Tirzepatide

The newest agent in the weight loss market gained FDA approval in November of 2022.

Semaglutide

Initially developed to treat diabetes it has been used for over 15 years for diabetic management.

Research continues to show the effectiveness of

Semaglutide & Tirzepatide injections for weight loss.

These Weight Loss studies highlight the value of treating obesity as a multi-dimensional disease instead of expecting people to rely solely on willpower to manage their condition.

But neither semaglutide nor tirzepatide are a miracle drug. And it’s not for everyone. This is why it extremely important you consult with a knowledgeable provider about your individual health history and goals.  Read on to learn more.

What are Semaglutide & Tirzepatide

Semaglutide belongs to a class of medications known as glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, or GLP-1 RAs. It mimics your body’s own GLP-1 hormone, which is released in the gut in response to eating.

One role of GLP-1 is to prompt the body to produce more insulin, which reduces your blood sugar (glucose).

How Do They Work?

Given as once weekly injections under the skin, GLP-1 in higher amounts also interacts with the parts of the brain that suppress your appetite and signals you to feel full.  It also slows stomach emptying, making you feel fuller longer.  When used in conjunction with diet and exercise, this triple approach can lead to significant weight loss and a reduced risk of cancer, diabetes and heart disease — in people who are obese or overweight.

Effectiveness of Semaglutide

& Tirzepatide

There have been several anti-obesity medications that help suppress appetite and achieve weight loss. But semaglutide and tirzepatide perform on a new level.

Studies have shown that individuals using semaglutide plus a diet and exercise program lost between 15% - 20% of their body weight.  But these are not ‘miracle drugs’. The fundamentals of obesity management will always be healthy diet and exercise. Having these anti-obesity medications is another tool in the toolbox!
